Avizo Contributes to Major Works in Sainte-Sophie-de-Lévrard

On June 26, the Municipality of Sainte-Sophie-de-Lévrard held the official inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony for a project involving the replacement of pipes and roadways on several streets, as well as the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant. In addition, the Government of Quebec granted the municipality more than $19.3 million for water-related infrastructure and road works.

Avizo is proud to have taken part in this project for the Municipality of Sainte-Sophie-de-Lévrard, mainly in connection with the wastewater treatment and underground and road infrastructure components.

First, our team of experts carried out a preliminary study and a condition assessment of the existing wastewater treatment plant. A master plan was then developed to upgrade the plant’s capacity, as its equipment had been deemed obsolete by Quebec’s Ministry of the Environment, the Fight Against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks (MELCCFP). We prepared the applications for certificates of authorization to the MELCCFP, as well as the request for environmental discharge objectives for domestic wastewater. Our environmental teams then carried out an environmental assessment and a wildlife and plant inventory. Finally, Avizo completed the preliminary and detailed design of a membrane wastewater treatment plant.

Avizo also contributed to the plans and specifications for the reconstruction of surface infrastructure and underground water and sewer networks on several streets (approximately 4 km), including the separation of combined sewers.
