Environmental monitoring of groundwater quality

Environmental monitoring of groundwater quality is a systematic process aimed at assessing and maintaining the quality of water present in groundwater. Avizo sets up strategically located observation wells to collect water samples at specific depths. These samples are then sent to laboratories for detailed analyses, to assess the presence of various contaminants, such as heavy metals, chemicals or pathogens. All Avizo activities comply with Annex IV of the Règlement sur la protection et la réhabilitation des terrains (RPRT).

The monitoring process is used to detect any alteration in groundwater quality over time, whether due to industrial, agricultural activities or other potential sources of pollution. The results of these analyzes are then compiled into a final report, which provides a comprehensive assessment of groundwater quality in a given region. This report can be used to guide corrective actions, determine compliance with environmental standards, and inform water resource management decisions.
