Characterization and delimitation of natural, humid and water environments

The characterization of a natural environment is recommended when a project is likely to affect wetlands and bodies of water that may be home to wildlife and plant species with special status. Here are examples of such projects:

• Purchase of industrial wasteland
• Residential, commercial, industrial or municipal development;
• Extension or repair of infrastructure

If the site to be developed contains wetlands (marsh, swamp, peat bog) and watercourses (river or stream) or bodies of water (lake, marsh or swamp) permanent or temporary, it will be necessary to identify their boundaries.
