Rehabilitation of Foster, Nord, Allen West, Western and Mario Streets and Underground Networks in Waterloo

The mandate involved the design of plans and specifications, as well as construction supervision for the rehabilitation of infrastructure on Foster, Nord, Allen West, Western, and Mario streets. The project included replacing potable water mains, validating watershed boundaries, conducting a drainage study, and separating combined sewer systems into distinct sanitary and stormwater networks. The work also included road structure reconstruction, paving, and the addition of sidewalks and curbs.

Foster and Nord Streets involved full roadway reconstruction in coordination with the MTMDT (Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité Durable du Québec).

Allen Street involved reconfiguring the roadway and adding a multi-use path separated from the street by a curb.

Mario Street included the development of a stormwater outlet into Lake Waterloo, water control during in-lake operations; supply, installation, and removal of a cofferdam; pumping; sediment control; shoreline and bank restoration below the high-water mark; and bank revegetation. These works required authorization requests to the MELCCFP and regulatory procedures for working in aquatic environments. A separated on-road bike path was designed and added along Mario Street to ensure a connection with the existing cycling network.
