Sewer network flow measurement campaign – RAEBL

Avizo is proud to have been selected to carry out the major sewer network flow measurement campaign recently awarded by the Régie d’assainissement des eaux du bassin de Laprairie (RAEBL). This is the largest contract in the field in Quebec for the year 2024, in terms of the number of measurement points carried out simultaneously in a single project. Over 82 flow measurement points, plus 10 rain gauges, will be strategically located in the cities of Candiac, Sainte-Catherine, Saint-Constant, Delson and La Prairie. Our teams of field technicians will be installing and taking measurements from August onwards, for a period of 13 consecutive weeks.

The purpose of this flow measurement campaign was to gather data on water levels and flows in the sanitary sewer networks, both in dry and wet weather, which enabled us to gain a deeper understanding of the behavior of flows in the networks, and thus to better target problems and develop appropriate solutions, taking into account the anticipated effects of climate change to ensure an adequate level of service to the population. Specifically, they have made it possible to assess the hydrological response of the sewer system to rainfall, and to identify areas where there are significant inflows of parasitic water, as part of the development or updating of overflow management plans.
